01 / What Finy does

Everything your money does.
Every screen, on both phones.

Scroll, and the two phones follow along. The figures are samples, drawn from Finy's real screens.

The phone pictures change with each step below; every step's words say what they show.

01

Add

Amount first, on Finy's own keypad.

Add opens with the keypad on its sheet. Type the amount, pick Spend, Income or Transfer, and Save. The account and the category are already filled from your last record. Your templates sit right above the keys, one tap each.

  • SplitOne record, several categories, and the parts add up.
  • Any dateBackdate a record to any day and time.
The same keypad on both phones: a spend on iPhone, an income on Android.
02

Capture

Share a screenshot. Finy reads it.

Share a payment's screenshot or a receipt to Finy from any app, and Finy reads it into a record for you to confirm. GoPay, OVO, ShopeePay, DANA, a bank transfer, a Shopee order: one tap saves each. On Android, Finy can also read the payment notifications your bank and e-wallet apps post, and wait with them until you confirm.

  • On the phoneThe words are read on your phone. Finy deletes its copy of the image once read.
  • Nothing silentNo record is written until you tap Save.
iPhone reads a shared screenshot and receipt; Android reads notifications too.
03

Say it, or tap a card

Say what you spent. Hold a card to the phone.

Tap Say it beside Add and speak, in Bahasa Indonesia or English. Several records from one sentence land on a short list, each saved with one tap. On an Android phone with NFC, hold a Flazz, e-money, TapCash, Brizzi or JakCard to the back and Finy reads the balance and the card's payments.

  • Said plainlyOn an iPhone, Indonesian speech goes to Apple's own recognition. Finy says so in the app.
  • Stays hereA card is read by the phone. Nothing leaves it.
iPhone listens; Android reads the card.
04

Splits

One receipt, everyone's share.

Point Finy at the bill. It reads the items, the service charge, the tax and the total. Add the people by their Finy code, or by name, and tap each line to say who had it. Finy works out each share and sends a card to each friend's Finy. Your share lands as a spend, and the rest as money lent until they pay.

  • A link for everyoneEvery split has a public link, for friends without Finy. They mark their line paid, with a transfer screenshot if they like.
  • Only Accept writesA split you receive waits as a card. Nothing lands in your ledger until you accept it.
iPhone shows each share before Send; Android shows Splits with a card waiting.
05

Budgets and goals

A hairline bar, and a calm sentence.

A budget is monthly or weekly, over the categories you choose. Its bar is a hairline in ink, with a mark for today and a forecast. Only when you're over does it turn to alert. A goal has a target, a date if you want one, and the accounts that feed it, with a pace sentence that says whether you'll get there.

  • HistoryPast months and weeks stay, with Previous and Next.
  • PlannedPlanned payments and debts, written as real records when they fall due.
  • AlertsOpt in, at most one a month per budget, with no amounts on the Lock Screen unless you choose.
iPhone shows Budgets; Android shows Goals and Planned.
06

Reports

Spending, cash flow, balance.

Spending by month, stacked by group in its own ink. Cash flow with what came in above the line and what went out below it. Balance as a line over time. Slide a finger across a chart and the reading follows. Filter by account, category, label or kind.

  • LearnEach report links to its lesson. Learn, in the menu, teaches the reports and money basics in fifteen short lessons.
  • ReadableEvery chart is read aloud, column by column, for VoiceOver and TalkBack.
  • FreeFree shows this month and last month. Rinjani and Carstensz show any range.
iPhone shows Spending; Android shows Cash flow.
07

Accounts and net worth

Every account, one figure.

Bank, card, e-wallet, prepaid, points, cash. Each account has its own colour and its own tile on Home. Count it in your net worth or leave it out. Set a balance to match the bank, and Finy writes the difference. The Balance report draws your net worth over time.

  • Running balanceAn account's own list shows the balance after every row.
  • ReconciledTick a row once it matches the statement.
iPhone lists Accounts; Android draws net worth.
08

Backup and the .finy file

One file holds everything.

Back up makes a .finy file, the one copy of your ledger, and you keep it where you like. Restore it on this phone or a new one. Before anything is written, Finy shows what the file holds, in counts you can read at a glance. A restore lands whole or changes nothing.

  • Readable exportA zip of records.csv, records.json and your accounts, categories and labels, on every plan.
  • ImportYour history from Wallet, Money Manager, Money Lover, Spendee and others, or any CSV.
iPhone shows Backup; Android shows Restore's counts.
09

The lock

Closed to anyone holding your phone.

Turn the lock on and Finy asks for your face, your fingerprint or your phone's own PIN when you open it, and again after a while away. Hide Finy in the app switcher. Hide every amount with one tap, until you show them again. All off by default.

  • Your phone's lockFiny keeps no secret of its own. It uses the lock your phone already has.
  • ScreenshotsStay allowed. It's your ledger.
iPhone shows the lock screen; Android shows Settings → Privacy.
